Caroline has been patiently, and not so patiently, waiting for this past weekend. A postcard arrived for her about a month ago saying that the Berenstein Bears were coming to Sioux Falls. Caroline just loves reading these books and catching the show on PBS, so needless to say, she was ecstatic!
The bears were coming to town as part of the South Dakota Festival of Books. She's been asking questions about how they were getting here, where they are staying, etc...so when the day finally came we simply had to go! Only Mama and Papa Bear were there. I told her that Brother and Sister had to stay home and rake leaves.
After getting to meet the two, we got to hear the Berenstein Bears go Trick or Treating. Then a local author, Virginia Driving Hawk Sneve, read her book, The Christmas Coat. I have to say, I enjoyed the afternoon just as much as Caroline did!
