This year Easter fell on my mom's birthday. I asked her what type of dessert she would like and she quickly answered, "white cake with lemon filling". I saw a fantastic cake at iambaker and knew that this would be THE birthday cake.
For the cake, I tweaked my favorite chocolate cake into a white cake (white cake mix and cheesecake pudding). I used these filling and butter cream recipes found at iambaker. Then, as our cousins started arriving for lunch, I started decorating. Surprisingly, it only took a few minutes to cover the cake in roses.
My mom loved how her birthday cake looked - and it was delicious too!
