Under the Big Top

What a difference a year can make. Last year at the circus Caroline did NOT want to ride the ponies or elephant or even think about it one second.

This year...it was a different story!

She had been talking about how she was going to ride a horse a the circus. So upon entering, buying a toy, and finding a seat, we went in pursuit of the horses. Caroline spotted one right away that she wanted to ride. The horse's name may or may not have been Looker (the circus man spoke very little English). Caroline was beaming and waving to Grandma Suzie every chance she got.

Immediately after dismounting the pony she decided she wanted to ride an elephant. I carefully explained that I was NOT going to get on an elephant with her. She assured me that she wanted to do this "By My Self" (her favorite expression). And sure enough she climbed the stairs and got on the elephant. Watching her expression, you would have thought elephant riding was the best way to get around in the world!
