The After

I'm sure I said this last year after I redid our family room, but it's amazing how much can get done without little helpers around.  Seriously, three rooms in four days - plus I cleaned the whole house and ran a ton of errands.  I should have an HGTV show!
First I repainted the guest bathroom.  I didn't change anything else, but I think fresh paint makes a huge difference.

Second I repainted the kids bathroom.  I also redecorated the room.  I found the artwork in an HGTV magazine and bought it through Brika.  It came as a set of six pictures, but I only used three.  If anyone would like the other three, please message me.  Both bathrooms are painted Crisp Ginger Ale from Glidden.  Some bright green accessories round out this bright room.

Lastly, I redid the laundry room.  The paint is Toasted Coconut from Glidden.  It's awfully orange, so I added some wallpaper on part of a wall.  I found the wallpaper (peel and stick) at Target.  It was easy to apply, even on the rough concrete wall.  Nate put in a new floor for me and a countertop over the washer and dryer.  Then I reorganized our art supplies to make it easier for the kids to use and (most importantly) put away.

The Delay

Sorry for the delay in posting lately...

Our family has been pretty busy with moving. We love our new house and are still in the process of making it a home. It was completely move in ready - which is a welcomed change for us.
Today I made some cookies as a thank you for our realtor. She was so patient during our search! I was hoping for a friendly blue front door, but it got a little bright. I found my inspiration for these cookies at Bake at 350. Bridget's cookies have a lot more detail, but not bad for my first house cookies!

Changes!

After getting a less than stellar home inspection on the 'fixer upper' house, we've decided to keep looking.
And we found another house!
We have a tentative date for closing in early June. It's move-in ready, and will need very few projects...

Caroline approves of the fast slide in the backyard!

A Preview...

Tonight is our last night in our house in Groton. Tomorrow we are moving out. Where, you may ask? It gets a little complicated...

We found a great home in Aberdeen, but won't be closing on it for a few weeks. Until then, our 'stuff' is going to a storage unit and we're moving in with my parents. They are graciously taking us in!

It hasn't been too bad packing everything up - we've taken a load of stuff to the storage unit every day. 'Eating down' the fridge and freezer hasn't been too bad either. This week I brought three peach pies to work!
The house we found in Aberdeen is a fixer-upper. But we see a TON of potential. When we sign for the house, hopefully in May, I'll take a lot of photos to show you. And of course I'll update this every step of the way. Until then, I thought I would preview some of the 'lovely' rooms. Seriously, the wallpaper in this house is really something! Enjoy and stay tuned!
(Don't you just love the blue fixtures?!)
(yes, the gold paisley wallpaper is also on the ceiling)
(again, more wallpaper on the walls and ceiling!)
